Don't surrender to bad hair! Planning can bring out the beauty of every strand.

Straightening your hair everyday is boring, plain and simple. Being the daughter of a hair dresser makes me aware of all the possibilities hair can offer.

Below is a “Hair Plan” schedule for a whole school week, with simple steps on how to complete each style with perfection.

In order to complete each style, you need to make a pit stop at a beauty supply store (I recommend Sally’s Beauty Supply) to pick up a few things:
1.) Mousse (Pantene Style Ice Shine)
2.) Gel (Aussie Aussome Volume is awesome)
3.) Hairspray (I like Aussie the best)
4.) Salon clips
5.) Spray bottle

Straightening

Everyone knows how to straighten their hair, but here are a few pointers to make sure your hair looks picture-perfect!

1.) Make sure your flat iron is not set at too high a temperature. Overheated irons can cause “skid marks”, ridiculous-looking lines on your hair.

2.) Use salon clips to divide your hair in to 4-5 different sections for straightening. This helps to avoid kinks.

3.) Use anti- frizz gel sparingly and only at the ends of your hair. Applying too much gel or applying it too close to the roots of your scalp tends to make your hair look really greasy.

Scrunching

Scrunching your hair can either be really pretty or really… not. Here’s how to make your hair look like you just got back from the beach.

1.) Let your hair dry completely and then spray it with a spray bottle filled with water, rather than scrunching as soon as you get out of the shower, as most people do. Scrunching when your hair is soaked not only looks really greasy, but it also wastes your hair products.

2.) Dampen your hair with a spray bottle so that it is wet to the touch, but not dripping.

3.) Apply about ¼ of a handful of gel to the ends of your hair.

4.) Scrunch in an upward motion while tipping your head upside down.

5.) Use your salon clips to keep the scrunched sections up. Then go about your normal morning routine. Take your hair down 10-15 mintues later, and be prepared to be amazed.

Curling

1) Tip your head upside down. Apply a really small amount of mousse to your hair; this helps the curls hold once you start curling.

2) Make sure your curling iron is on the highest setting it can go on. This will not burn your hair, trust me.
3) Using your trusty salon clips, divide your hair into about 6 different sections.

4) Depending on your barrel size, you will want to take 1-3 inch sections of hair at a time. Less hair will give you skinnier, tighter curls – more hair will give you looser, bigger waves.

5) Take your first 1-3 inch section in hand. Starting at about an inch up from the ends of your hair, bring the curling iron down to your ends. Then, curl away from your face until the ends of your hair are in the curling iron. Hold for 6-12 seconds, depending on the thickness of your hair.

6) Do not rip the curling iron off of your hair. Gently squeeze the lever multiple times until your hair falls out of the barrel.

7) Repeat steps 5 and 6 for your whole head of hair.

8) Remember to run your fingers through your hair to break up the curls, and finish by spraying with hairspray.
