Ice Skating in Clinton Square
Clinton Square ice skating rink is downtown Syracuse’s main attraction in winter. Every year, the rink is opened to the public; people go with their friends to hang out and have a good time on the ice. It’s also a fun way to get an exercise during the winter time.
Aside from the rink, Clinton Square has plenty of sights to enjoy, like the decorations of light or Syracuse’s nearby Christmas tree. At night, the view is beautiful.
“The first time I went ice skating, I loved it,” said sophomore HaoVan Duong. “It’s so much fun going ice skating, even though I fell so many times.”
Clinton Square ice skating rink is the most popular destination during the winter time. The rink opened to attract visitors in downtown.
“It was cold, I was horrible at ice skating and the rest of the time it was a lot of fun, especially at night it looked so pretty,” said senior Neven Zahran. “When I was skating I spilled hot chocolate on me while I was ice skating, which pretty much explains how bad I was.”
The Clinton Square Ice skating rink opens on November 25th to March 1st. So you have all the time to go ice skating and have some fun with your friends.
The open hours for the rink are Monday-Thursday, Sunday is 11 a.m. to 8p.m. and Friday-Saturday is 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The fee for admission is 3 dollars and children 12 and under at $1.50. The skate rentals are an additional 3 dollars.
There are many other local ice skating rinks located around in central New York like the Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion, Cicero Family Sports Center, Cicero Twin Ice Arena, and a lot more others.
